A family poisoned with treachery and bitterness race against time to cope with past hurt, confront unfinished business, and grieve the loss of a loved one in Desires of the Heart. Inspired by the biblical story of Jacob and Esau, this film follows twin brothers, Ethan and Jack, who are struggling over their birthright: ownership of their father's business, a treasured family heirloom. When their father dies, Ethan and Jack find events don't go as they had expected. Their mother makes an irreversible decision that damages the very fabric of the family. Meanwhile, Ethan finds he must confront the choices of the past and the hurt and anger poisoning his spirit. Can Ethan, Jack, and their mother reconcile? Only time will tell.
Desires of the Heart is a faith-based allegory and compelling drama about family, forgiveness, and, ultimately, reconciliation.

This inspiring story is an allegory of Jacob and Esau's story from the Bible. Set in modern time, it tells of twin brothers that both want their father's affection and love. One son, Ethan, is like his father when it comes to sports and has great athletic abilities while the other, Jack, is more of the book type. So when their Dad becomes ill, their Mom takes things into her own hands and changes his will which has an effect on everyone's lives.
This is a faith influenced story about how the choices people make affect themselves along with the others around them and the power of forgiveness. We award this movie the Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages 12 and older.
